A Mosaic of Human Beliefs

WorldReligions.com presents an array of current news, features, and opinions from field of religious life as it interacts with the family of humankind around the globe.

Wikipedia includes the following definition, which while necessarily limited, gives some context to the topic of this website.

A religion is a set of stories, symbols, beliefs and practices, often with a supernatural quality, that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to an ultimate power or reality. It may be expressed through prayer, ritual, meditation, music and art, among other things. It may focus on specific supernatural, metaphysical, and moral claims about reality (the cosmos, and human nature) which may yield a set of religious laws, ethics, and a particular lifestyle. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience.

While it will be impossible to cover the vast spectrum of activities encompassed by the description above, we provide though-provoking news and commentary related not only to so-called "mainstream" religions, but to other ideas and practices dealing with man's search for meaning within the universal mystery.
