It is astounding and frightening that so much of our country (which I thought considered free exercise of religion and private property rights as two of its cornerstones) is bothered by the prospect of a group of Muslims building a mosque. To be sure, two blocks from ground zero is hallowed ground. Consequently, a monument to those who destroyed the twin towers is, and should be, offensive.
